Glazed Chocolate Chip Brownies Recipe
A convenient cake mix hurries along the preparation of these tasty brownies. These goodies are a holiday favorite in our family.
Ingredients: (Yield: 2½ dozen)
- ²⁄3 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups sugar
- 1¹⁄3 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup baking cocoa
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup water
- 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
GLAZE:
- ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ¼ cup 2% milk
- 1¼ cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method:
In a large bowl, combine the butter, eggs and vanilla. Combine the dry ingredients; add to butter mixture. Stir in water and chocolate chips until blended.
Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until brownies pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool on a wire rack.
In a microwave, melt the chips and butter with milk; stir until smooth. Remove from the heat; whisk in the confectioners’ sugar and vanilla until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes or until chilled; frost brownies. Cut into bars.
