Rub the butter or margarine into the
flour, salt and baking powder until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Stir in the sugar. Gradually add the milk and mix to a smooth dough.
Press gently into a greased 23 cm/9 in cake tin (pan) and bake in a
preheated oven at 160°C/325°F/ gas mark 3 for about 30 minutes until
light golden brown.
