Cream together the butter or margarine
and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in the eggs,
then fold in the flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in enough of the
milk to make a soft consistency, then stir in the cherries and nuts.
Spoon into a greased and lined 900 g/2 lb microwave loaf dish and
sprinkle with the sugar. Microwave on High for 7 minutes. Leave to
stand for 5 minutes, then turn out on to a wire rack to finish
