Vanilla Buttercream Frosting Recipe

Ingredients: Makes enough to fill and cover one 23 cm / 9 in cake

1 egg white
75g/3 oz butter or margarine, softened
30 ml/2 tbsp hot milk
5 ml/1 tsp vanilla essence (extract)
A pinch of salt
350g/12 oz/2 cups icing (confectioners') sugar, sifted

Method:

Blend together the egg white, butter or margarine, hot milk, vanilla essence and salt. Gradually mix in the icing sugar until smooth.
